Looking for roomies in Los Altos
Hi! Trying to get into Foothill College for Spring Semester, but I need a place to stay and with a small budget, and that calls for roomies! I'm 21 and female. I need a relatively cheap place near public transportation, and is okay with a cat. If you are someone looking for a roommate as well or know someone that is please contact me. It'd be much appreciated!

j-term Housing

I'm looking for an internship in the San Fran area (I'll know if I got it by Tuesday) so just to cover my bases incase I do get it, I'm looking for housing, but only for the month of January. I'm a student, aged 20, so I can't afford anything more than $300 (maybe less) but I'm looking to be in an area close to public transportation so I can get around, and I'm also planning on visiting a school in Berkeley for grad-type work so I'll need easy access to that!

If you know anyone, or can help me yourself, please feel free to message me via LJ and we can talk that way!!

Looking for some place artsy to live

Hello Friends,

In two months I will sadly be able to call myself a college graduate. But alas, I’m just not ready to move to the big city with that girlfriend I don’t have and start that career which I also don’t have. Being open minded and aimless, my only dream is to start a new life somewhere with a bunch of crazy art school kids.

I am 21 and come from SUNY Purchase, a school that defines the words “liberal” and “artsy.” For instance, In my sound/interactive media class my lab partner has constructed a Tiki costume out of cardboard and bamboo which he wears on a daily basis. What a blast!

I am the best roommate I know. Clean, tidy, respectful, easy, quiet, and some people may say almost too quiet. I find myself learning to love just about everything that comes across my path. These things include Polar Bears, ultra-loud music, assorted books, typography, and dancing! And if I were one of those kids that defined himself by his music he listens to then the last three shows I went to were Deerhoof, Skeletonbreath/Monotonix, and the Wham City Round Robin Tour.

Sigh. It’s hard to sell myself on this livejournal but, it’s better than craigslist and I would really prefer to live with some creative minded people as opposed to a middle aged depressed man with poor taste in music and no sense of adventure.

Please feel free to contact me any time with questions if you’re looking for someone to fill a spot in your apartment or looking to move out of your dorm come this January. Short term/long term whatever.

Hugs and fishes!

Berkeley summer student wants cooperative living with other Nerds
I am returning to UC after a Reed College escapade and will be studying Cognition and Politics. As anyone who's ever found themselves at Reed College, I am a nerd, not the stubborn fashionable kind, but a real nerd. I'm 21 and I'm a dude, though not very manly.
I arrive in the middle of June for classes starting on the 23rd and I potentially could crash around with some people if you don't have space until later. I'm going to stay at Berkeley through the Fall, but it's ok if I have to move somewhere else at the end of the summer. I only know a few people in who actually live in Berkeley and I don't necessarily want to live with them, so I'm going to *resort* to craigslist. I just want to find somewhere with incredibly decent people who start things and know things, and who I can have real conversations (you know, "rational" ones) with.

I guess my personality is peaceful-ish (I feel overstimulated pretty often and think peace a fundamental necessity before anything can get done), but I also love Science and deliberately bringing up contradictory viewpoints (including ones that contradict the western industrialist invention of Science itself), so I'm not sure my personality is really classifiable. I like being outside anytime it's sunny, I like quiet music all the time. I sort of like talking about computer theoretical stuff and people are pretty interesting (why I'm studying cognition). I've done a good amount of thinking about human computer interaction so if you're into that feel free to ask me about it. I've made money mostly doing little programming gigs but I don't really like programming. I just like thinking about the potential of computers and the way people use them.

I'm told I can be really spacey and also be really normal: you never know when.

A room! a kitchen! internet!
I'm trying to move to San Francisco in September from West Marin and am having a devil of a time finding a room to rent.

So... I'm wondering if anyone on here is looking to fill a vacant spot in their apartment. I'm finishing one AmeriCorps internship, soon to start another, and I've figured that my budget is $600/month, preferably less, but I can possibly squeeze it up a bit. I can provide a credit check and a reference.

About myself:
I'm female, mid-twenties, from the Chicago area. I'm friendly, fairly outgoing, and a social drinker. I don't smoke, don't have pets, but am okay living with an outside smoker and/or animals. I eat meat but I have no problem keeping vegetarian in the house. I'm neither a neat freak nor a slob.

What I hope to find:
I'm not terribly picky. The minimum stay I'm looking for is 4 months. An option to stay longer would be awesome if I was accepted into the household and if it were available. The earliest I can move in would be Sept 1st, the latest Oct 1st (well, honestly I could probably stretch my current situation out even longer if I had to). The genders, sexual orientations, ages, and numbers of individuals living in the place don't matter to me. I like to cook so I'd like a place with a kitchen. Internet access would be awesome, but not necessary.

I'm looking anywhere in the city except south of the Mission District. This is only because in January I will be working in the Presidio and I don't want that long of a bus/bike ride.

Relaxed, friendly, stable queer guy seeking room/roomies for summer
27, full-time MA student, quiet but friendly, relaxed but clean. I'm looking for 1-4 (negotiable) good and compatible folks to share a place. Maybe one of you has a place to share, or maybe we can all find a place together. Sticking points— I'm allergic to furry and feathery critters, you should be okay with queer and trans people, and I'm not comfortable with drug users or heavy drinking. Berkeley, North Oakland, or Albany/El Cerrito near BART preferred; I'm thinking 400-600 apiece.

Let's make a place that will be peaceful and fun and pleasant to come home to.

PS: I like to cook and I'm good at it, and I'm happier when I have people around to eat the food I make with me. I eat meat, but I can cook vegan/vegetarian as well.

Looking for a roomie within a month.
20 year old female, looking for someone to rent a room from me in the Antioch/Brentwood/Concord area.
I'm probably moving within a month.  I'm looking into a 2 bedroom/2 bathroom place with cable and internet included (and lots of other neat features, like a pool and spa).
I'm asking $600/month, but I'm willing to talk.

I'm out at work a lot, so I wouldn't really be around to bother you.
Eventually I might get a small dog, so pet-friendly people are preferred.
Here's a link to the apartment complex.  As I said, I'll be out within a month.
If you're interested, comment here and friend me, so we can get to know each other a little bit.

Generally I'm a pretty mellow person.  I like electronica (but there isn't a single style of music that I really hate), I enjoy most movies, I can be a decent cook, and I'm really friendly.  As long as I can trust you to not steal my stuff/trash the apartment, it's all good between us. :D

Question for a friend :)
Happy Holidays everyone! Hope all of your celebrations are beautiful and you can find joy in this season.

I'm asking a question for my very good friend Luke memepr0gramme - he's a young queer guy who's kinda stuck this holiday season. He's just left a very bad family situation in Texas where among other things he wasn't accepted for being queer - and he's now in the process of looking for work and trying to go back to school for linguistics or evolutionary psychology.

Unfortunately he's kind of between places to live - and would love a place where he could stay for awhile in exchange for cooking/childcare/eldercare/computer tech support. He's quiet, unobtrusive, not an addict, reasonably clean, just needs a little help to get on his feet. His dream is to become a college professor, perhaps at Cal Berkeley.

If anyone knows of anything, please comment here and I'll put you in touch with him.

OMG! I am gay!
My cousin is harassing me because he cannot handle the fact that I am gay! He admitted that I am just the 2nd person he knows of that is gay and the other one is a PWA. I try to understand his situation but I am now 30 years old and there is no way in heaven or hell for me to change in m ways nor for me to even supress it or hide it. The cat is already out of the bag and they would just have to deal with it or for me to move out temporarily until they could accept me as I am. I will not subject myself to self-hate just to please other people and feed the lie that they want to live out. Sorry I am not who you have always thought I am.

With this.....I am looking for housing so I can have time alone to myself and re-generate until I get a very good job! I will be going to school soon to be nurse but with all these things going on at the house, I will have to choose a shorter course and that would be Pharmacy Tech for now.

Please reply or call me if u have room that is available....maybe even a free one until I get myself situated.

Please help a sister out.
